Publication News

In a recent meeting, the executive committees of the Society for Eczema Studies and Skin Allergy Research Society welcomed the idea of having a common journal, as both societies share a common spirit of promoting quality research in the field of skin allergies, which encompasses urticaria, angioedema, anaphylaxis, atopic dermatitis, contact dermatitis, drug reactions, and more.

The executive members of the societies have together elected Prof. Deepika Pandhi as the Editor-Elect. of the Indian Journal of Skin Allergy (https://skinallergyjournal.com), once the current Editor-in-chief Prof. Kiran Godse, finishes his tenure.

Professor Kiran Godse, who is also the president of the Skin Allergy Research Society, welcomed the idea of the two societies joining hands. Professor Sandipan Dhar, who is the president of the Society for Eczema Studies, is very excited about the new partnership. Indian Journal of Skin Allergy (IJSA) is going to be a game changer in the field of skin allergy research in India and subcontinent. Though there are many societies related to various sub-branches of cutaneous allergy, there are very few journals that are open access and do not take author publication charges, unlike the Indian Journal of Skin Allergy. Therefore, this journal has tremendous potential, and within a short span of one year, the journal has created a buzz amongst dermatologists in India and abroad.

Professor Deepika Pandhi is the new editor-elect and will take over the journal in February. There has been tremendous growth in the fields of cutaneous allergy research over the last decade, with a better understanding of pathogenesis and the availability of newer targeted molecules, including biologics, requiring a newer platform for unbiased, quality research work in the field. The Indian Journal of Skin Allergy intends to provide a quality scientific platform in the field of skin allergies that is open-access, peer-reviewed, unbiased, and free to authors and readers. We are working on gathering the best quality scientific minds from India and abroad and the reputation and efforts of both societies will help us in such endeavors.
